Alcanena
The landscape of Alcanena
Alcanena links the limestone uplands of Aire and Candeeiros with the Alviela springs. In the north, stone walls and olive groves accompany a landscape where water mainly travels underground.
Olhos d’Água
The Alviela emerges after an underground journey through limestone, beside a river beach and the valley of the Amiais stream.
Stone and fields
Dry stone walls divide fields and olive groves, revealing the relationship between farming and the limestone terrain.
