Almeirim
Almeirim: floodplain and inland settlements
In Almeirim, the Tejo alluvial plain gives way inland to the charneca and higher ground. Fazendas de Almeirim and Paço dos Negros illustrate the scattered settlement pattern of this transition. The Muge stream adds a broad valley associated with farming and human settlement.

The lezíria, also known locally as Campo, is a sparsely populated agricultural plain. Its open landscape differs from the settlement centres and scattered housing further inland.

The Muge stream runs through a broad, shallow valley. Land suitable for cultivation helped shape the distribution of settlements along this corridor within the municipality.
