Caminha
Caminha: a town at the Minho mouth
Caminha stands at the Minho mouth, where river, border and sea meet. The former fortified settlement retains traces of its medieval enclosure, while Ínsua marks the estuary entrance.
Fortified core
The clock tower belonged to the medieval enclosure and remains a landmark within the town's historic structure.
Ínsua fort
The fort occupies a small estuary island, revealing the relationship between historic defences and the river entrance.
