Castro Daire: Montemuro and pastures
In Castro Daire, the Montemuro mountains and Paiva river shape a territory of uplands and valleys. Transhumance routes preserve traces of livestock farming, while the historic town is reached by climbing from the river.
Montemuro and pastures
Meadows, shelters and livestock paths form part of the mountain landscape, recalling the former seasonal movement of grazing herds.
Paiva and town
The transhumance route crosses the Paiva on the N2 bridge before climbing an old paved path towards the historic centre.
