The open horizons of Campo Branco
Castro Verde lies in Campo Branco, amid the broad plains of Baixo Alentejo. Farming and livestock husbandry have shaped this open landscape, where settlements including Entradas, Casével and São Marcos da Ataboeira punctuate the countryside and the Basílica Real marks the main town's identity.
