Resende
Resende: from Montemuro to Douro cherry orchards
Resende occupies slopes of Serra do Montemuro facing the Douro and Carrapatelo reservoir. Cherry orchards, chestnut groves and meadows give an agricultural character to a territory where altitude and proximity to water vary between localities.
Cherry-growing slopes
Cherry orchards distinguish Resende's slopes and change their appearance through the year, particularly during the trees' spring flowering period.
Douro and Caldas de Aregos
The riverside landscape includes Caldas de Aregos, a thermal spa locality complementing the mountainous character of the municipality's higher areas.
