Terras de Bouro
Terras de Bouro: the Homem and a Gerês reservoir
Terras de Bouro is connected with the River Homem and the landscapes of Gerês. The Vilarinho das Furnas reservoir profoundly transformed one of its valleys, submerging the former communal village of Vilarinho da Furna.
River Homem
The Homem feeds the reservoir, created by the dam inaugurated in 1972, adding a substantial expanse of water to the landscape.
Vilarinho's memory
The former village was submerged, making settlement history inseparable from the transformation of the valley and the construction of the dam.
