Vila Verde
Vila Verde: fertile valleys and mountain villages
Vila Verde combines the fertile Homem and Cávado valleys with more mountainous areas in the north of the municipality. Mixões da Serra, in Valdreu, shows this contrast, with a sanctuary that marks its upland settlement.

The two rivers frame fertile countryside, with riverside routes making the relationship between water and the surrounding territory clearly visible.

The Santo António sanctuary stands in one of the municipality's most mountainous areas, associated with the local tradition of blessing animals.
