Mafra
Mafra: Palace and Tapada
Mafra brings together a vast palace and convent complex, the wooded Tapada and Ericeira’s coast. This proximity between monumental architecture, forested land and a seaside settlement gives the municipality an easily recognisable diversity.
Palace and Tapada
The complex includes a convent, basilica and royal palace; the adjoining Tapada retains the character of former royal leisure and hunting grounds.
Maritime Ericeira
Ericeira retains its identity as a fishing town beside the Atlantic, with nearby beaches including Ribeira de Ilhas and Lizandro.
