Loulé
Loulé: a market town and inland villages
Loulé municipality links the inland town with the coastal settlements of Quarteira and Vilamoura and the villages of Alte, Salir and Querença. Castle towers and the market shape the urban landscape, while white houses accompany a countryside of varied relief further inland.
The market building
The municipal market has a Neo-Moorish composition arranged around pavilions and monumental entrances. It is an architectural landmark connected with Loulé's long commercial tradition.

These villages reveal another territorial rhythm: limewashed houses and ornate chimneys in Alte, views towards Caldeirão in Salir, and clusters of white houses in Querença.
