Public consultation on the Sado and Mira QSiGA closes on 20 September
The public consultation on the Significant Water Management Issues (QSiGA — Questões Significativas da Gestão da Água) for the Sado and Mira River Basin District (RH6) closes on 20 September 2026. It is run by the Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente, has been open since 20 March 2026 on the participa.pt portal, and forms the second stage of the fourth planning cycle of the River Basin Management Plans (Planos de Gestão de Região Hidrográfica), covering 2028-2033.
RH6 covers coastal and inland Alentejo municipalities where we work regularly, including Grândola and Alcácer do Sal.
Why it matters if you are building
The QSiGA stage is where the issues that the next cycle's plan will seek to address are identified. That diagnosis may later be reflected in the PGRH measures and in the criteria applied to water management, abstractions, discharges, and projects requiring water-resource permits or opinions.
Taking part at this stage means contributing before the draft plan is prepared.
The QSiGA consultations for the Douro (RH3) and the Vouga, Mondego and Lis (RH4A) river basin districts close on the same date.
