Portimão
Portimão: estuary, town and canning heritage
Portimão developed at the Arade estuary, between riverfront, historic centre and beaches.
A factory transformed into a museum
Portimão Museum occupies a former canning factory beside the Arade, connecting industrial architecture with the history of work and the town's traditional fishing community.
Between river and sea
Praia da Rocha and Santa Catarina fortress mark the proximity of the river mouth. The town therefore combines riverside spaces, broad beaches and defensive heritage.
